Conference on Patient Safety Research

This conference, to be held in Porto on 24th to 26th September, deals with a problem which is regarded as a priority area by the World Health Organisation, Patient Safety Research.
The aims of this initiative are to promote research and international action and disseminate results, widen the range of initiatives and put forward evidence-based standards, for practical application. This conference will be supported by the European Commission and organised by the World Alliance for Patient Safety (a body set up by the WHO in response to a World Health Assembly resolution), jointly with the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health of University College London.
The conference on ‘Patient Safety Research - Shaping the European Agenda’ will provide the agenda for the European Commission, EU Member States, the World Alliance, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Council of Europe.
Portugal will be represented at the conference by Dr Margarida França, of the Portuguese National Research Agency and Dr José Robalo, Deputy Director-General of Health.
